This bag is quite rad!
I love being able to put bars, phone, guide books, wallet, etc. in this bag. It's really convenient and I love the splatter paint design on the hip belt!
I use the summit bum with the comfy strap for day hikes and would have loved to have known about it before hiking the Appalachian Trail. I'm definitely taking it on the CDT! It's very durable and the extra convenience can't be overstated. 10/10 I recommend this product.

This was a last minute purchase for my 1000 mile trek on the PCT. It quickly became my favorite. It was very comfortable and made easy access to things I didn't want to have a hard time reaching such as snacks, chap stick, and a small journal. This will now go on all my treks!

I love my summit bum! It's the MVP of my hikes now. I can keep my snacks, compass, phone, hand sanitizer, and map close at hand, and keep them there even when I remove my pack. I'll never hike without it!

Favorite piece of Appalachian Trail Equipment
I am in love with this pack. It was my number one piece of equipment on my thru hike...making all my most important stuff assessable and safe at all times...Once I was finished it became my everyday pack even acting as a babysitter for my grandchild’s bear-bear! I can’t say enough about this phenomenal pack!
There's a few on the market to pick from but the pocket on the outside is perfect for a cell phone. This feature alone sets the pack out from the rest. If I lost this I would buy the same one again.

I bought The Summit Bum as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend who is an AT thru-hiker (class of 2012.) He loves it! The pack is super versatile, and the quality and attention to detail are impeccable. Excellent customer service throughout the buying process - all of our questions were responded to quickly, and we didn’t have to wait long at all to receive the pack! We’ll definitely be referring Thrupack to everyone.
I really like my summit bum pack. It is big enough for my essentials and the dedicated space for the cell phone is not only one reason I bought, but it now one of the reasons I would recommend this pack. The padding is a bit bulky, but I imagine something like this needs the help of a bit of structure. The material is sleek, zippers high quality with a bit of water resistance in the opening, and the zipper pull is nice and easy to reach for. I also like that it can be used as a chest rig, though as a female I won't be using that feature! It is a bit pricey for a small fanny pack, but I'd recommend it to someone looking for a subtle, sleek design, neat smartphone pouch and good overall space for essentials.
